Casa Anita @ Selvolina is found nestling in a beautiful valley of the Apennine Mountains delimited by three regions Emilia Romagna, Tuscany and Liguria, in the commune of Borgo Val Di Taro, frazione San Pietro.

The town of Borgo val di Taro is at approximately 411metres above sea level (1,348.4ft) in the province of Parma and is considered ‘the capital’ of the Taro valley extending in a vast basin on the left bank of the Taro river. San Pietro is just 4km outside the town, up the hill at approximately 670masl (2,198.2ft) overlooking the valley, Taro river and the village.

Due to its location, in the past it was a crossing place for merchants, travellers, pilgrims and armies. Today it is well known for its gastronomic specialties, particularly the Porcino mushroom, one of its most typical and renamed products, as well as Parmigiano Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma, amongst its most famous.

The nearest airports are Parma, Pisa & Bologna. Other fly and drive airports a little further away include Milano & Bergamo. It is recommended to hire a car as there is little local public transport from the village to the property apart from a taxi or a pre-ordered bus service. During winter, snow tyres are obligatory.

The nearest motorway is the A15 Parma- La Spezia. One should take the Borgo Val di Taro exit and from the pay toll it is another 15km to the village of Borgotaro (Borgo Val di Taro).

Take the directions for the ‘Centro’, ‘Assitenza Pubblica’ and ‘San Pietro’ and this will send you up the hill.

San Pietro’s signpost is just beside a church which is followed by the cemetery and an agriturismo called ‘La Vigna di San Pietro’. Immediately after the agriturismo, there is another sharp bend and our entrance is on the right, lined by pine trees. You will have arrived!

There are also train services for the same stretch (Milano) - Parma – La Spezia, stopping at Borgo Val di Taro.
